|Notes||The private collection in question was that of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé. It was one of three sold at Christie's, Paris in February 2009 for a PM record of €21.6M ($27.8M).
The frock is one of the designs which established YSL and, one supposes, helped to pay for the original acquisition. The painting is by Kenneth Paul Block. This blog questions who thought of it first.
